From a technical point of view, antivirus scanning requires a large amount of system resource include memory, bus bandwidth and CPU. With limited hardware support, existing security gateways see dramatic performance drop when antivirus feature is turned on. BroadWeb offers high performance antivirus solution that detects virus, Trojans, worms, spywares and other malicious softwares. The streaming based scanning engine uses less system resource and offers high scalability in terms of simultaneous scanning sessions and maximum size of file that can be scanned. Based on the database suitable for hardware acceleration, BroadWeb antivirus engine allows for the implementation of high performance antivirus on many platforms (e.g. ARM, MIPS etc.) where traditional antivirus software is not available due to limitations in the architecture, processing power or memory.
