BroadWeb NetKeeper™ Awarded by NSS Group

BroadWeb NetKeeper™  Advanced Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (AIDP) recognized and achieved as  "NSS Approved"  in the latest Intrusion Prevention System Test version 2 conducted by NSS Group. The test result concluded the NetKeeper™ AIDP "NK-3256 performed consistently and completely reliably",  "Block 100 % of all exploits even when under extended attack" ,  "Very impressive performance." as stated in the test report.

We also found the NK-3256T to be very stable and reliable, coping with our extensive reliability tests with ease and without succumbing to most common evasion techniques. SYN flooding protection is particularly well implemented for a device of this type" remarks Bob Walder, test lab director. "The NK-3256T performed consistently and completely reliable through our tests, continuing to block 100 per cent of all exploits, even when under extended attack."  "Performance at all levels of our loaded tests was impeccable, with 100 per cent of all attacks being detected and blocked under all load conditions."
 
Highlights of BroadWeb NetKeeper™ AIDP's performance in the test include:
  • Performance - Performance at all levels of our loaded tests was impeccable. The most impressive performance, however, was to be seen in SYN flood tests. Very impressive performance for a device which does not bill itself as an attack mitigation device.
  • Reliability - The NK-3256T performed consistently and completely reliable through our tests, continuing to block 100 per cent of all exploits, even when under extended attack.
  • Accuracy – Passed 100% of False Positive test suites. Resistance to known evasion techniques was excellent, with the NK-3256 achieving almost a clean sweep across the board in our evasion tests. Fragroute, Whisker, ADMmutate and even RPC record fragging all failed to trick NetKeeper™ into ignoring valid attacks.
  • Usability - Installation of the NK-3256T is straightforward. The report generator is a very powerful and flexible dynamic query tool, and should prove very useful for forensic analysis.
  • Stateful Operations - The NK-3256T maintained state on 256,000 concurrent connections and did not succumb to denial of service attacks.
