Multi-Functional DPI Suite

Broadweb’s Multi-Functional DPI Suite (BMDS) features a unique one-pass Deep Packet Inspection technology, providing true visibility to the network traffic. Rather than using a separate set of scanning engines for each DPI feature, BMDS comprises a uniform DPI engine and signature databases to identify a wide range of network applications and threats while dramatically increasing the throughput and reducing latency.

Our Features

High Performance

BMDS’s DPI engine is optimized for symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) processors, and provides near linear scalability as core density increases. It can achieve 10’s of Gbps throughput with off-the-shelf x86 processors. BMDS can reside either in kernel space or in user land, therefore, the packet flow between existing applications and BMDS can be optimized for better system level throughput. BMDS is also proved to be working with popular fast-plane/data-plane architecture to make the DPI effortless.

True Visibility

  •  -SSL Traffic
  •  -Proprietary Encrypted Applications

    Flexible Integration

    •  -Ready-to-Use
    •  -De-facto signature format compliance
    •  -Platform Compatibility

Rich Deliverables

BMDS is accompanied by fully documented APIs, code samples, and rich description in XML data format for each threat/application. Customer can publish on web site by 1-click or even wrapped into a cell-phone application package for quick reference.

  • >> For all rates of traffic:

Processing multiple concurrent data streams and search for thousands of signatures in parallel, with performance largely independent of the number of signatures. Running from Fast Ethernet to multi-10Gbps rates.

  • >> For all popular hardware platforms:

A self-contained package with highly-efficient engine and weekly-updated signatures database, optimized for various hardware platforms to provide application identification and network security. Hardware platforms supported: Intel, Cavium, Freescale, Marvell, Broadcom, Tilera, Mediatek.

>> For all implementation of network appliances:

Providing easy-to-use APIs, running in both Linux Kernel Space and User Space, adjustable size in terms of memory resource to be suitable for various types of gateway appliances: Security/QoS/Mobile/WIFI/…

>> For all popular applications and emerging threats:

Increasing network visibility by Identifying more than 1,800+ applications and 10,000 threats. True application-level identification and protection. 7x24 monitoring to minimize False Negative and False Positive rates.
